This wildlife photography workshop offers the perfect blend of seclusion, expert instruction, and unparalleled access to some of the most beautiful parts of rural Pennsylvania. Whether you’re an experienced photographer or a passionate nature enthusiast, this is your chance to develop your skills and connect with nature in one of the least disturbed and most scenic regions of the United States. This immersive experience is crafted for photographers eager to capture the untamed beauty of birds, with a special emphasis on breeding warblers in their pristine habitats.

During this unique experience, you will:

• Photograph Breeding Warblers: Northern Pennsylvania is home to a rich diversity of warblers during their breeding season. You’ll be eye-level for many of these encounters with some of our most beautiful wood warblers.

• Experience True Privacy and Seclusion: This experience features lodging at a private farmhouse located private land OR a secluded AirBnB style home on a wooded lot. Wake up to the sounds of birds every morning, sit on the porch or deck, and relax in between sessions.

• Receive Expert Instruction: As I lead this workshop,  you’ll receive personalized guidance on capturing stunning wildlife shots. Learn advanced techniques for photographing birds in their natural settings, perfecting your compositions, and working with varying light conditions in remote environments.

Travel:

• Transportation to the location is not included; upon arrival, the small group will usually travel together.

• For 2-session events, food and lodging are not included.

Species:

• This workshop is catered to your needs and desires.  With reliable locations for several warbler species, we will look for what you want! 

• Expect: American Redstart, Black-and-white, Black-throated Blue, Black-throated Green, Blackburnian, Canada, Hooded, Magnolia, Northern Parula, Ovenbird, Waterthrush and more.

Physical activity:

• This workshop includes very moderate activity, as destinations will likely include short hikes, but most travel is by car.

Gear:

• DSRL or mirrorless camera with 300-600mm lens.

• Appropriate attire for hiking, as well as waterproof clothing. 

• Take regular precautions against ticks and/or bugs for this spring workshop.
